Students Entrepreneurs Network Africa

The Student Entrepreneurs Network Africa SENAf is a student-led organization that aims to, mentor, train, support, and encourage the development of student entrepreneurs in Tertiary Universities in any African Country.

The Network provides a platform for students to develop and showcase their entrepreneurial skills, connect with other like-minded individuals, and access resources and support to help them start and grow their businesses.

The purpose of this Network is to provide guidelines for the operation and management of SENAf and to ensure that the Network is run in a fair, transparent, and effective manner.

Membership

Membership in SENAf is open to all students who are interested in entrepreneurship. To become a member, students must fill out a membership application form for free, and members must show commitment for a period of 2 months of active Participation and Service to the network before the individual will be formally inducted.

Executive Board

The Executive Board of SENAf is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Network. The Executive Board is made up of: Patron, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer. The Executives of the network other than the Patron is elected by the members of SENAf at the annual general meeting.

Meetings

 

SENAf shall hold regular meetings to discuss and plan upcoming events, as well as to provide updates on the Network’s activities. Meetings are open to all members of the Network.

Events

 

SENAf will organize a variety of events throughout the year to support and encourage student entrepreneurship. These events may include workshops, networking events, competitions, and guest speaker sessions.

Date of Commencement: 1st March 2023

Funding

SENAf would be funded through membership fees and sponsorships. The Network may also apply for grants or other forms of funding to support its activities.

Communication

SENAf would maintain a website, social media accounts more especially the Network’s WhatsApp platforms to provide updates on the Network’s activities and to communicate with members. All members are expected to check the website and social media accounts regularly for important announcements and updates. Official Communications should be done by the Public Relations Officer for the Network under the instruction of the Network Executives.

Code Of Conduct

As a member, all students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. This includes:
  1. Respecting the rights and opinions of others
  2. Being punctual and prepared for meetings and events
  3. Maintaining confidentiality when discussing sensitive information
  4. Abiding by the University’s policies and regulations
  5. Member should Contribute actively during Meetings.
  6. Time and Punctuality should be member’s hallmarks.

Any member found to be in violation of the code of conduct may be subject to disciplinary action, which may include suspension or expulsion from the Network.

Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Support

SENAf is committed to providing its members with the resources and support they need to start and grow their businesses. This includes:
  1. Access to funding and investment opportunities
  2. Mentorship and coaching from experienced entrepreneurs
  3. Workshops and training sessions on various aspects of entrepreneurship
  4. Networking opportunities with other student entrepreneurs and industry professionals
  5. Access to resources such as business plan templates and market research tools and many other benefits.
  6. Fun Trips/Excursions.

Members are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities and to actively engage in the Network’s activities.

Events

 

SENAf encourages its members to develop and implement their own entrepreneurial projects and initiatives. This includes:

  1. Encouraging members to come up with their own business ideas and develop them into viable projects
  2. Providing support and resources to help members turn their ideas into reality
  3. Offering opportunities for members to pitch their projects to investors and industry professionals
  4. Encouraging members to collaborate and work together on projects

Members are encouraged to actively participate in these projects and initiatives and to take advantage of the opportunities and support provided.

Entrepreneurial Workshops and Seminars

SENAf organizes workshops and seminars on various aspects of entrepreneurship to help members develop the skills and knowledge they need to start and grow their businesses. These workshops and seminars may include:
  1. Monthly Breakfast Meetings
  2. Marketing and sales
  3. Financial management
  4. Business planning and strategy
  5. Legal and regulatory compliance
  6. Networking and collaboration

Members are encouraged to participate in these workshops and seminars and to take advantage of the opportunities and support provided.

Partnerships

SENAf works closely with other well-established organizations, chapters and institutions to provide its members with additional resources and support. These partnerships may include:
  1. Universities and business schools.
  2. Incubators and accelerators.
  3. Government agencies and non-profits making agencies.
  4. Private sector companies and venture capitalists.
  5. Angel Investors and many more.

Members are encouraged to explore these partnerships and to take advantage of the resources and support they offer.

Entrepreneurial Competition

SENAf organizes an annual entrepreneurial competition, open to all members, where they can showcase their projects, ideas and businesses. The competition aims to:
  • Provide members with an opportunity to pitch their projects to a panel of judges
  • Provide a platform for members to gain exposure and recognition for their projects
  • Provide members with an opportunity to win financial prizes and other resources to help them grow their businesses

Members are encouraged to participate in the competition and to take advantage of the opportunities and support provided.

Evaluation and Feedback

SENAf is dedicated to continuously improving its services and support for its members. To achieve this, regular evaluations and feedback sessions are held to gather input from members and to identify areas for improvement. Members are encouraged to actively participate in these evaluations and to provide constructive feedback.
